Taking the fiction out of Science

EtherWorks is a deep tech company building hardware from the absolute most cutting edge technology in what manufacturing already proved can be done. We are building The Replicator - That's right, "the Star Trek too good to be true future device". A multimaterial 3D printer that assembles matter with sound. We'll be building this in the open, transparently - in collaboration with anyone who wants to.

Thesis

Progress needs a NEW operating model.

What has been holding hardware development back? Not physics, but coordination and collaboration. Their is too much focus on IP, walled gardens, and zero-sum competition. The hardest problems are solved faster and in better fashion; when the best ideas can be shared, tested, and improved by as many hands and brains as possible.

Being built in the open

Checkable fact
14 research papers, the digital twin and the CAD are published open source and readable in full from the Research page.

Everything we build at EtherWorks is published open source — the digital twin, the CAD, and the research papers are on GitHub. We collaborate with companies, university labs, and independent researchers by default. Our goal is not to own the future — it is to make the future arrive sooner.

How we work

The rules we run on.

Open source by default

Every design, model, and line of code we can publish is open source.

Collaborate & Coordinate

We work with other companies and labs whenever possible. We would rather solve the problem than own it.

Measured receipts

Every number we publish traces to a measurement we can show. No projections dressed as results.

Primitive first

Ship the smallest thing that proves the principle. Frontier claims come after the primitive works.
